Restaurant Review 1

Please comment and what you think about this....is this the type of operations that you want to run????

The service was the worse that I’ve experienced, waiter was not friendly at all, table setting was a mess, ironing table cloth in front of guest, service was slow.
Food – Appetizer was tasteless, Tuna carparchio was not fresh at all
Soup – mushroom soup was salty and lack of mushroom taste, texture was light. Bouiabbaise was just ok…but seafood was not fresh,
Main course – Whole Chilean Sea Bass was roasted with salt, and carved in front of the guest, it was a flop..the fish was broken into small pieces…fish was fresh though, but the portion was way too huge for one person, I did not finished eating the fish….
Wagiu beef steak cost RM150 requested for medium done but delivered well done steak…food was sent back to the kitchen
Tenderloin steak also was well done and sent back to the kitchen.
Vegetarian pasta was not delicious as well. Another pasta dish was a total disaster….bone in was served with pasta
Pizza toppings was also too bad choice…too many ingredients..tomatoes, hard boiled eggs???etc, etc…
Dessert was ok, nothing fantastic….well everything about the restaurant was a disaster and we spent more than RM800.00. First and last to visit.

My comment: This type of operation should be complaint to their manager so that they can improve. This situation can't be accepted because if am the customer, i really not satisfied with the service and will not pay or just pay for half price.
I think the operation are messy and lack of workers knowledge and skill .No planning being done by the restaurant and they just take perfunctory towards the customer.
I think the hired unknowledgable chef maybe to reduce cost.
The human resource department also did not monitor the workers.

  2. Absolutely a big NO!!!! Can't imagine if I've in your place.. The waiter is supposed to be the face of the restaurant, unfortunately he doesn't do his job correctly.. The first meal which should make us continue eating also a big disappointment.. Lastly, the price is really expensive for such terrible services and meals.. -Nurul Amirah-

  3. I think the problem is about the menu planning of the restaurant was not so good.. Tha manager did not set up the standard recipe, cooking method and so on and did not prepared in a good way.. Furhermore, it also affect the pricing of the menu. The customer did not satisfied with the food with that price and it is not worth at all..

  4. In my opinion, this type of the operations should not be run because it will have a negative impact on customer satisfaction and to the restaurant itself. Besides, the service and menu planning is important to the restaurant. The waiter should be more responsible and productive when doing their job. Then, the service can be improve as the back of the house operations and the front of the house operations is lack of understanding or communication. The most important is the menu planning should be plan and operate well because it is symbols to a restaurants. For me,the price is really expensive and it is not reasonable for such a service and the menu that they have prepared. -Norlina Razali

  8. Well from my point of view, everything was conducted in a wrong place. First, it is about the food itself. It is very important to prepare food excellently in term of flavour and texture, also the way how they've been cooked and how they've been presented to the customer. Talking bout the service, it is regretful to say that the service provided is poor. In the future, the workers must be trained properly in order to improve their knowledge and skill. Also it is very important to be more clear and more attentive bout customer's demand since customer always right, isn't? Actually, it is not fair to spend a lot of money just to get that kind of 'service'. overall, i think the whole operation system need to be improved to achieve the level of customer's satisfaction.

  9. Definitely not. I'm quite surprise that such incident could happen in a high class restaurant because logically when someone dine at those restaurant, the expectation of the customer must be very high due to the standard of the restaurant itself. In my opinion, maybe the organization is having internal problem such as problem with their food and beverage management, I don't think they will simply provided that kind of service cause marketing of the restaurant can be as simple as the customers satisfied with the service and then they will spread the news to the others.

  10. If this condition keep continue for a long time, the restaurant might lost a lot of customers because of the poor services and it will dissatisfy the customers and guests. Then, the price is also really expensive and not worth it...
If I am one of the customer, I will not return to the restaurant for another time.

  11. From my point of view, I think the restaurant is anew restaurant and the restaurant manager may not have the experience to run a business. It may also be caused by workers not trained and qualified to work in a fine dining restaurant. Moreover, the price of food is very expensive and does not fit with what you get. Thus, this restaurant should take steps to address this problem and it should not happen again in the future. (Rafidah,160678)

  12. It is the worse restaurant if this bad thing happen in it. Such a wasting money for spending to the bad service and tasteless food. But the management of the restaurant could do something to improve their service if they want make a money because customer satisfaction is very important in a business.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree with Rafidah's opinion. It could be a new restaurant that has just started to make it moves of stabilising its foundation in the food industry. Support is needed by providing guidance and proper advice so that the restaurant can make the improvement for the whole service conducted. However, if this restaurant is REALLY new in the industry, this is not a reason to provide such bad service to the customers. They should've given the best that they have in every aspect in order to give a good impression to the customers and these customers will help to promote their service without them having so much effort on publicity.

If the statement of 'new' does not belong to this restaurant, well, it is such a disgrace to the food industry. So much things need to be corrected in terms of the pricing, the service provided by the waiters, and the food itself which is the main component in the restaurant. When we've came to the food aspect, menu planning is the one that need to be reviewed again and to be given extra care. -Zinneerah

  14. After reading the review of this restaurant, the food and service are not at its best and that should not be happening in the food industry. What is important in the food industry are the to satisfy the customers, produce good food with great presentations at affordable price and an amazing service to the customers. When the customers are not happy with the food or service from the restaurant, they would not come to dine there anymore. As a commercial industry, you need the customers to give you the profits, thus everything must be tip top in terms of service, food, ambience, etc. As a foodservice student, I would not want to run a restaurant like this.

  15. as for me..this type of restaurant failed to make the customers satisfied with the menu and service..first impression is everything..since it charged lots of money, the customer can make some complaints to the restaurant manager about their experiences in that restaurant..from the complaints, the restaurant can improve their service and menu planning..in future, we might do the same mistake like this when running the restaurant..besides, the customer satisfaction can't be maintained easily since there's many type of people..it's fine to make a mistake, but it's better to improve the mistake..as a good restaurant manager, we should learn more from the complaints and compliments..(160658)

  16. of course no..i think the operation of the food service is bad. the price also unreasonable with the poor service of the restaurant. the manager has to think and improve the service. the workers have to know the knowledge in food service. the workers have to welcome the customers. the foods also have to be improve to fulfill the customer's satisfaction. the decoration of the restaurant also has to be improved. actually, all the operations of restaurant have to be improved.--> Nur Atiqah

  18. The entrance of the restaurant was nice. The restaurant had very good ambiance and good concept and theme. It was very bright and colorful.
We had Mango Lassi and Tea Tarik. The mango lassi was good and was made from fresh mango and served in a nice glass. Appetizer – Ceaser Salad was just fine, the dressing was not too strong though…they could have make it better.
Vietnamese Spring Roll was fried…they should have it fresh but the plum sauce was very nice. The rolls was oily and soggy. Mushroom on toast was ok, not much to complaint.
Spicy Crabmeat Crepes – nothing is so special about this dish. The crab was not fresh.
Soup – The mushroom soup was delicious and we enjoyed it very much.
Main Course – I had the Sirloin Steak – it was very tough and the meat was hard. There were too much fat on the steak. The veges – cauliflower, potatoes and carrot was not cooked well. Mushroom sauce served was instant and the taste was not good.
Fish and Chips – was horrible, the fish was not fresh. A friend ordered Lasagna but it did not came through then she cancelled the order. They brought a fruit platter to compensate. We ordered our last dish – Nyonya laksa., it did not taste like laksa, but as noodle curry or mee jawa sauce. The sauce was sweet and that was a bad choice.
Dessert was just ok….The service was not pleasenat as well. Waiters were away when we tried to ask for something that was just impossible. They were not alert and not fully doing their job to serve the guests. Price was average, but the food was not really super.

    1. After reviewing on this restaurant, I think the restaurant need some improvement in some aspects. First of all, the restaurant should serve best quality of food especially fresh ingredients. Then, some improvement in method of cooking should be make because the steak was most probably overcooked thus caused it to become very tough and hard. Plus, they should refined the menu of the laksa as it does not bring the local nyonya laksa flavor. Regarding the service, I would like to suggest that the waiters should need some training to improve their personnel skills. Besides, maybe they should need some motivation to improve their confidence and willingness to carry out their duty well. That’s all, thank you.

    2. In my opinion, this is because of the workers lack of confident and skill. For the back of the house, the chef should be effective when doing their work. As example, all the menu that had been ordered should be serve on time. For the front of the house, they must be confident when they serve food for their customer. They should improve their knowledge as doing a homework about all the menu that had been provided. At least, they know how to explain to their customer when they ask. A good restaurant is not fully depend on their ambiance but the food is a main reason for a customer when they went to a restaurant.

    3. I think the waiter should give full attention to customers' requests. The management should provide adequate training to the waiter in order to avoid worst service which can make the customer feel dissatisfy. They should prevent from making the customers waiting for food too long. Then, a great restaurant must serve good quality of food to the customer. They should use the high quality of ingredient, proper method of cooking and serve it well to maintain the customer's satisfaction.
      Thank you :)

    4. Based on my point of view, the restaurant are not really concern about their performance. The ambiance and surrounding of course must pleased us, but that is not everything. They should always ensure that their food is fresh and safe to be eaten. Besides that, they must balance their presentation by keep serving dishes that satisfy their guests. The restaurant also need to ensure that their front of the house staffs are alert and efficient. Then, the chef actually should know what actually that he or she is going to cook. The chef must learn back about the types of menu and dishes as he or she couldn't differentiate between Nyonya Laksa and Mee Jawa. That's all from me. Thank you..

    5. For me, I think the restaurant need some improvement in a few aspects. Firstly, the restaurant should provide the best quality of food especially the ingredients for the meal. Next, the method of cooking should be improve in order to make the food better. As for the example, the steak was mostly overcooked and caused it to become very tough and hard. Therefore, they should alert on the menu of the laksa as it does not the local nyonya laksa flavor. As for the service, the waiters lack of confident and low skills. The waiters need some training in order to improve their skills. Thank you.

A good restaurant especially the fine dining one must have an extraordinary service. This is very crucial since the customers pay more just for the sake of good services. I personally think the restaurant must look back and make some postmortem about their management and service style. If the manager or the executive chef failed to do so, they will be in such big trouble. Customers will continue to avoid the restaurant. The food critiques also will bash and slams the restaurant causing the restaurant to lose profit.

A fine dining restaurants usually very expensive. People are willing to pay more if the service is good. I think you should walk away from the restaurant without paying anything since they failed to serve you as it should.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Of course RM800.00 is totally not worth for this type of dishes being served. I wonder how can this happen in such a fine dining restaurant. After reviewing on this restaurant, I think that this restaurant will not last long, because the most important thing that is needed to attract customer has failed which is the food. It is not only expensive, plus it does not taste good at all. There is no consistency in preparing the food, some are tasteless while some are too salty. In addition, they didn’t fulfil the request of their customer until they have to repeat cooking many times especially the doneness of the beef steak. This is not professional at all.

Well, the service was bad too as waiter is the one who deal with the customer but they are not friendly at all. Moreover, what a shame that the table setting was a mess in a fine dining restaurant, plus the waiter was ironing table cloth in front of guest. I am sure that this is so embarrassing and customers would probably share the bad mouth of word.

Last but not least, I will definitely not run an operation like this. Thank you

  21. I was shock once I read all these. In a food service area, these should not be happened. Firstly, as the one who stand at the front of house, the waiter should be friendly and welcome the guests with smiley face. This is what a professional waiter should do. Secondly, the ambience of a restaurant is very important. The bad environment and messy table settings will indirectly make ones mood become bad and lose their appetite. Besides, foods must be worthwhile to the price we paid. For a fine dining restaurant, there should be a balance between the foods served, services provided and the environment. If the environment is in the best condition while the foods served are terrible, we cannot consider this as a fine dining restaurant. We as the consumer should complain to the manager. The manager should pass these complaints to the chef. As a chef, actually he should prepare foods with passion, not simply prepare foods and served. This should not be happened when he is a chef. Last but not least, a good restaurant should be best of the best, best in the aspects of foods, services and environment.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would like to say that the service was absolutely terrible. A waiter's attitude and customer service skills significantly influence how customers view a restaurant and also the reputation of the restaurant. In the food service industry, a waiter must have excellent customer service skill and communication skill. They should try their best to serve every customer to increase their satisfaction level so that they are willing to spend their precious money and time in the restaurant. Therefore, it is very important to have well-trained waiters in a restaurant to provide good impression to the customers. Besides, food served with quality is a “must” in a restaurant. This is because the freshness of food can easily affect the appetite of the consumers. There is actually no excuses for the restaurant to serve food with such bad quality. Moreover, the restaurant environments are generally fast-paced and require the highest efficiency level. However, there are slow service, messy tables and also waiter ironing table cloth in front of guest which reflect the inefficient work environment of the restaurant, this causes customers to lost their confidence to the restaurant. So, all the service staffs and kitchen staffs must always ready to face any challenge and provide the best service in order to keep past customers and also attract more customers to generate huge profit.

  23. Absolutely not ! I think the manager of the restaurant did not hired the professional staff with the highly skilled. That will give the bad impression the customers who come to their restaurant. Therefore, the manager did not play their role well. Besides, this type of restaurant will lost their customers as their services are so bad and the price is too high since the customers are did not satisfy with their services provided. They should make the customers happily while eating at their restaurant by providing excellent services.

  24. In my opinion, this restaurant was lack in management. The manager of the restaurant should do something to improve their customer satisfaction. I think RM 800.00 is is totally not worth for this type of dishes being serve and poor service. The workers should be train to improve their skills and knowledge.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, there goes some reason for not to waste money there..Rm800 for lousy service and disaster food like that? Ridiculous..if I was there, an explaination from the chef may calm me a little..a complaint should be sent for this matter..

    ReplyDelete
  26. Based on this situation, I can conclude that the services provided and also management of the restaurant is very poor and terrible. The charges you have paid were not worthy at all. Basically, in my opinion the owner of this restaurant was not having background of the knowledge and skill on the service and food preparation. The waiter that the owner has hired was lack of skill and not well trained to serve the guest properly. So if I have had this shocking poor service, I will ask to reduce the bill or not pay it at all. If the service charge's already absorbed within the food cost, I am still legally entitled to deduct a reasonable amount.
Besides that, all food should be on satisfied quality during food preparation, including being at the right temperature when it is served. Food must also be prepared with reasonable care and skill. If it is not, I have my right to claim a full or partial refund depending on the problem. When food is poorly cooked, then complain immediately is the best way so that can bring up the issue within the restaurant and ask it to replace the dish with another one.
Lastly, I will strictly not to come back again to this kind of restaurant in future.

  27. I will suggest that the management of the restaurant should send a representer to our class to learn menu planing.
I believe that this owner of the restaurant is too over confident that he think his standard is good enough to charge for such a high price. Maybe he should come to our Haloween lucheon and have a look on what is quality food production. :)
Honestly, if i went to a restaurant like this, i will complain cukup cukup until the restaurant give me a reasonable rebate and i will never go back to the restaurant anymore.

  28. As for me, this shouldn't be happened to such an exclusive restaurant. The management should hire the well-trained crew for both back and front of the house. The menu itself gives a good impression at the first sight but after knowing the bad service and the foods were not up to standard, this would gives negative impact to the restaurant. The restaurant might lost customers and this problem should be overcome instantly. The management should gives training to the crew especially to the front of the house crew as they will give the first impression to the customers.

  29. well I also will definitely don't go to this kind of restaurant. why did you go there in the first place.. If it was me, I would do some survey first because for that amount of money, i prefer to have better experience. The most important things when setting up a restaurant is to make sure the food's quality. Customer want to come and eat what they want and it is quite nuisance when people didn't get what they expect. The services also have some problems. How can the waiter sent wrong food when they already write down the orders. this maybe because lack of commitment from the waiter. if i were to open a restaurant, i will first check the quality of the food sent to the customer because that is my main purpose. Hiring good waiters/ cookers also is a thing which has to be done correctly. lastly, i will try to make the food price a bit cheaper so that people are encourage to dine in my restaurant.

  30. Well, as the owner or the manager of the restaurant, the service and the quality of food is the main selling point of a restaurant. This is because when customers visit a restaurant, they expect their requirement are satisfied by the service and food that offer by the particular restaurant. As the customers have to pay RM 800 for a dinner, customers are expecting their money were pay worth for it. Therefore, the management of this restaurant has to be improved and training must be given to waiters and chef of the restaurant. This is the only way to rebuild the reputation of the restaurant.

    ReplyDelete
  31. In my point of view, this kind of operation cannot be run nicely due to the problem that they faced. Poor service, lack of skills, do not have any experiences and management system that do not organize properly are the main problems that make any operation cannot be run as what they planned. So, as for me, in order to run for a good operation, we need to have good skills, a lot of experiences on that fields or otherwise our operation will be like in the situation above. these kind of problem will affected their operation syatem as well as will give bad reputation to them.

  32. Firstly, I would say that I will not spend money at the restaurant in future. Moreover, the service was bad, with unfriendly waiter and also the quality of food. They should serve a good meals and service worth it with money. The payment is so expensive. Well, people will eat in fine dining restaurant to escape from boredom and to socialize but if situation happen like this, the restaurant will lost the customer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. honestly from my view, the price paid is not reasonable with the food provided and also the service too bad. As a customer, we should to complain as it is the customer's right. Maybe the restaurant is a new restaurant like rafidah said, so that they have to make improvement with the customer complain.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, definitely the restaurant did not give the best service. Everything like messy and unorganized. The restaurant management should be aware on their service and food production. They should learn back on how to prepare the food and beverage. They should not use the old raw material that can cause the food become not fresh. It is not suppose to be happen to the such high standard restaurant. Everything should be improved, from the back of the restaurant until the front of restaurant. Plus, the price was unreasonable!
