Good
evening everyone, I am Yeoh Siew Ching here to share about my experience during
the class trip to Malacca on 4th- 7th November 2013. It
was a wonderful trip indeed because this is my second time step into Malacca.
Plus, the experience was totally different from the first time I visited
Malacca. Basically, through this trip, I get to experience the original
“Kampung Lifestyle” in Malacca and discovered many things that I never heard
and experience before in my life. First of all, share to you mainly the
activities that carried out in the Homestay Villa Sri Pinang.
Firstly, the “Bendang Walk” was
my best experience and I think to most of my coursemates too. This is the time
where you will definitely get your shoes dirty with mud. Lesson learnt from
this activity was we must adapt ourselves to the any environment, try our best
in getting through the tough and challenging journey. Besides, I have the
chance to cycle around the village and seeing the lifestyle of every house that
I passed by. I would like to say this awesome experience would definitely couldn’t
be find in the big city.
During this trip, we do not forget in sharing
our kindness and loving to the poor and unfortunate one. Twelve packs of 5kg
rice were donated to the selected villagers and I think the donation will more
or less help them to cut down on their burden.
Continue with
the visit to Malacca city, few photos to share here. I was impressed with the
mural drawing on both sides of buildings during the journey on the water
cruise. The next one is the panoramic view of Malacca UNESCO World Heritage
City on the ride of “Menara Taming Sari”.
Next, a short visit to the Desa Paku Malay Traditional House has made me
discovered a few things that impressed me a lot. I get to know the concept of the
“Garden in the House” where the owner made his own perfume by using the natural
flowers from his own garden outside his house. There are variety flavours of
natural perfumes with variety types of flowers. It creates a nice and natural
aroma in the house which making the guests feel refreshing. Moreover, the owner also introduced the
miracle fruit to us. Miracle fruit is something like a berry, when eaten,
causes sour foods like limes
subsequently consumed to taste sweet. The last one is the “forbidden fruit”
where it is hardly find nowadays.
Last but not least, I would like to end my
Malacca review with this group photo. A big thanks to all the committee members
in making this trip a successful one.
